“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.” Revelation 3:20, New Living Translation.
Many people have heard of Jesus, maybe through friends, or family, or history… ect. But how many of us actually believe that He existed not only as a famous story told throughout the ages, but as a real live person today? The thing is, He is real and He speaks to each and everyone of us, we just might not be able to understand. Also I’ll tell ya right now, church can be a great thing but you don’t need to go there just to get to know Him. Funny thing is He finds a way to speak to you all the time, it’s just learning how to listen that is the hardest part. What’s also funny is, He speaks to all of us differently in a way that we can comprehend. I would like to share a story my husband shared with me.
One day he was walking home at night in the rain, on a street named Williamson rd. All of the sudden he looks over across the street and sees a little duck out of the blue start playing in a puddle next to the intersection.
He just kind of thought it was strange to see it by itself but decided to keep walking. He walked right into a street sign hit his his head so hard that he fell over. When he was lying on his back with the rain pouring into his face, he started to laugh and said, “I get it Father! You were telling me to Duck!”
So in the end not only can God help with the serious stuff He can also help with the everyday stuff. The main thing is, He has a plan for you. Not sure what but whatever it is will be worth all of the hardship that you might have to face. Men and women of God have it rough I won’t lie to you, but they also get one of the most important jobs in the world. They get the responsibility to protect people. He might be calling you to work for Him, and if you choose to follow Him He will bless you beyond what ever you can imagine. The easy part is accepting Him into your life, the most difficult part for us is removing ourselves from the throne of our hearts, and putting Him in the front seat. He will never steer us wrong, so if one step is taken toward Him, He will take the next ten toward you.
God wants to be your friend, your Father, your teacher, your confidant, your comforter, your healer… He has so many names and titles, it’s one of the reasons He is called the great “I Am.”
